The Process
Project timelines vary based on size and complexity. A typical residential driveway takes 1-2 days to pour, while larger projects like foundations may take 3-5 days. Site preparation (excavation, grading, forming) may add additional time. We'll provide a timeline estimate during your consultation.
Concrete work requires appropriate weather conditions. Rain, extreme cold, or extreme heat can affect concrete quality. If weather conditions aren't suitable, we'll reschedule your pour to the next available date. We monitor forecasts closely and will communicate with you about any potential delays.
Permit requirements vary by location and project type. We can advise you on whether a permit is needed and help guide you through the process. In many cases, we can handle the permit application on your behalf as part of our service.
Absolutely. We take pride in leaving your property clean and tidy. All forms, tools, excess materials, and debris are removed when we finish. You'll be left with beautiful new concrete and a clean jobsite.
Concrete Care & Maintenance
For foot traffic, you can typically walk on new concrete after 24-48 hours. For vehicle traffic on driveways, we recommend waiting at least 7 days. Full cure strength is reached at about 28 days. We'll provide specific curing instructions for your project.
Sealing is recommended for most exterior concrete, especially driveways and patios. It helps protect against staining, moisture penetration, and freeze-thaw damage. We recommend waiting at least 30 days after pouring before applying sealer, and reapplying every 2-3 years.
Hairline cracks can occur in any concrete as it cures and settles - it's a natural characteristic of the material. We minimize cracking through proper joint placement, reinforcement, and curing practices. Control joints create intentional weak points so that if cracking occurs, it happens in planned locations.
Concrete is low-maintenance, but a few practices will extend its life: clean spills promptly, avoid using de-icing chemicals (use sand instead), reseal every 2-3 years, and keep heavy equipment off edges. Pressure washing annually keeps it looking great.
